Sue is passionate about helping seniors. She is calm, patient and thorough. She has been working in the healthcare space for over 20 years with the last 9 years in senior care (senior housing).

She first got interested in senior care when her father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. At that time Sue was still working in corporate America developing online education programs for doctors and their patients. She left the corporate world to launch a franchise senior placement business in San Mateo County. 

Sue was helping seniors and their families navigate the senior housing space – the realm of assisted living, memory care, board and cares and independent living. At this time her father also developed dementia.  Sue took her new found skills to Canada to help her family place her father in a memory care community. What could have been a very long drawn out process was accomplished in a much shorter period of time due to Sue’s skills in navigating the senior housing space and the Canadian Healthcare System.

Sue has a Masters in Pharmaceutical Marketing and is a trained Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). 

Sue spent 12 years working with WebMD and another 10 years for a variety of companies in the digital marketing and health education field.

Sue is Canadian, from BC and she has lived in Vancouver, Montreal, Paris, Melbourne, New York and San Francisco. She loves to travel. 

She also enjoys wine tasting and collecting wines. She loves vinyasa yoga, golf and tennis. She lives with her boyfriend of 6 years Bob here in Atascadero.

Sue has become an integral part of the senior care community.  She has worked with over 900 families in the past 9 years. And every 3 weeks her newsletter keeps everyone up to date on what was happening in the world that week and in the senior care space. 

Back in San Mateo County Sue developed relationships with over 200 communities and care homes in her area. She got to know the owners, managers, sales directors, administrators, caregivers and residents. This helped her make just the right match for each family she works with. She is now doing this in San Luis Obispo county with over 100 communities and care homes.

Additionally, she developed a network of over 700 referral sources including case managers, discharge planners, financial advisors, estate planners, real estate agents and more to serve her clients. Again she is developing her network here in San Luis Obispo county through her contacts at BNI and the local Chamber of Commerces.

We can deliver same day placements but most placements can take up to a few days to a week or more by the time we:

• Conducts a Care Assessment with the family

• Meets the loved one for placement, where possible

• Identifies the best housing options 

• Helps make the selection

• Checks the state safety record and availability

• Sets up and conducts the tours

• Negotiates the best pricing

• Collects the necessary paperwork e.g. 602 RCFE Physician’s report, medication list etc.

• Ensures the loved one has had a TB and COVID test

• Follows up the during the week after move in & one month later

• Provides other resources (e.g. move manager, geriatric care manager, estate planner etc.)
